Residential Renovation Designer

Job Summary

PBE Rénov is looking for a Residential Renovation Designer to support clients in the design and transformation of their living spaces.

The person in this position participates in the development of concepts, selection of materials and finishes, as well as the preparation of visual and technical elements necessary for the completion of projects.

They work closely with clients, project managers, site teams, and suppliers to create functional, aesthetic, and achievable spaces that respect the project's budget and constraints.

Main Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to understand their needs, tastes, priorities, and budget.
• Develop interior renovation concepts adapted to the project's objectives.
• Propose functional and aesthetic layouts.
• Participate in the design of kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and other residential spaces.
• Prepare moodboards, color palettes, and visual presentations.
• Select materials, colors, coatings, lighting, decorative plumbing, hardware, and finishes.
• Advise clients on their product and material choices.
• Prepare or coordinate the preparation of plans, elevations, and drawings necessary for projects.
• Take measurements when necessary.
• Collaborate with the project manager to respect the established budget.
• Verify the availability and lead times of selected materials.
• Collaborate with suppliers and obtain necessary product information.
• Ensure that design choices are compatible with the site's technical constraints.
• Conduct site visits to verify the conformity between the planned design and execution.
• Make necessary adjustments during project completion.
• Maintain clear documentation of client-approved selections.
• Participate in the creation of PBE Rénov's design and presentation standards.
• Contribute to the visual quality and consistency of delivered projects.

Desired Profile

• Relevant experience in interior design or residential renovation.
• Excellent aesthetic sense and good understanding of design trends.
• Good understanding of materials and finishes used in residential renovation.
• Ability to transform client needs into concrete and functional solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Developed sense of detail.
• Good organization and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and site teams.
• Creativity combined with a good understanding of budgetary and operational constraints.

Requirements and Assets

• Education in interior design, interior architecture, or a related field is an asset.
• Experience in kitchen and bathroom design is a significant asset.
• Knowledge of design, modeling, or technical drawing software.
• Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software is an asset.
• Knowledge of suppliers and materials available in Quebec is an asset.
• Valid driver's license for site visits.
• Proficiency in French; English is an asset.
